Anti – Ragging Cell

Inconformity with UGC guidelines, State Government instructions and Supreme Court judgments and direction, Marangi Mahavidyalaya is following “Zero- Tolerance Policy” forwards ragging. Any students of Marangi Mahavidyalaya accused and found guilty of ragging will be dealt with, in accordance with the Provision of the Law.

Ragging is a disturbing reality in higher education system of our country. Despite the fact that over the years ragging has claimed hundreds of innocent lines and has ruined careers of thousand of bright students the practice is still perceived by many institutions of higher education. Ragging is totally banned in the campus of Marangi Mahabidyalaya (Degree) and anyone found guilty of ragging is liable to be punished.

 Vision

To build a ragging free environment by instilling the principles of tolerance, compassion and sensitivity so that students become responsible citizens.

Mission

To create a clean atmosphere for the students where no act of ragging exists.

Objectives:

1.To prevents any kind of ragging in the college campus.

2. To bring out an awareness among the students about the bad effects of ragging.

3. To prevent any form of physical or mental stress or fear, which disturbs the learning atmosphere for the students.                                                                                                     4. To prevent any act of indiscipline in the college campus.

5. To prevent financial extortion or forceful expenditure from fresher’s students.

6. To     prevent any act of physical or mental abuse causing harm to life of students

Scope of the Anti- Ragging Cell:

The Anti- Ragging Cell functions in the following areas:

1. Receive complaints on any matters related to ragging.

2. Conduct enquiry in accordance to the guidelines of UGC.

3. Action taken against the students involve in ragging.

Punishment:

Any student found guilty of ragging in college campus will have to face any one punishments of the following;

1. Restricted from the college for at least 1 month.

2. debarring from appearing in Internal and University Examinations.

3. Any punishment or fine given by the Legal Authority.

4. Cancellation of admission.

5. Writing apology letter.
